TRESTON, MUTUAL INSURANCE HEAD, DIES IN ROCKWELL
Prominent in business and co-operative groups many years.

Rockwell, Feb. 1. - James E. Treston, 70, president of the Cerro Gordo County Farmers' Mutual Insurance Company, died here at 10:30 o'clock last night. He had been prominently identified with Rockwell business and farmers co-operative organizations for many years.

Although Mr. Treston had been in failing health the past few years, he had been up until recently. His death, following that of Frank Paul, secretary of the insurance company, marked the second recent death in the company.

Born in Wisconsin in 1862, Mr. Treston went with his family to Wilkes Barre, Pa. In 1885, the family moved to Dougherty Township near here. Two years later, Mr. Treston was married to Julia Burke. After living on the farm several years, Mr. Treston and family moved to Rockwell, where he served for 20 years as cashier of the Farmers State Bank.

At the time of his death, Mr. Treston was president of the Farmers' Telephone Company of Rockwell. He was elected president of the Cerro Gordo Farmers Mutual Insurance Company in January and previously had held the position of treasurer.

Mr. Treston was also treasurer of the incorporated town of Rockwell. He had been prominent in co-operative associations and during his life had served as secretary for the Farmers' Society. Mr. Treston was a member of the Catholic church. The funeral will probably be Friday.

Surviving Mr. Treston besides his wife are three sons and four daughters. The sons are Edward G. of Quincy, Ill., Martin of Rockwell, James of Long Beach, Cal., and the daughters are Mary and Sister M. Sheila of Chicago, Mrs. Elizabeth Kelch of Dougherty and Catherine at home.
