PIONEER CERRO GORDO SCHOOL TEACHER DIES
Mason City - Susan Treston, 82, one of Cerro Gordo County's pioneer school teachers, died at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the home of her sister, Mrs. J.T. Gaffney at Rockwell.
Miss Treston was born in Pennsylvania and moved to Cerro Gordo County at an early age.
Funeral services will probably be held Thursday morning at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in the charge of the Rev. John Hartigan. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery at Rockwell.
In addition to Mrs. Gaffney, Miss Treston is survived by four other sisters, Mrs. H.J. Barragy, Mrs. Manus Gallagher, Mrs. Margaret Roeder, all of Rockwell, and Mrs. Bonner of Salt Lake City, Utah. One brother, J.E. Treston, cashier of the Farmers State Bank at Rockwell, also survives.
