Of the five stones I was able to locate in this cemetery, only one was inscribed. Capt. John A. Skidmore's gravestone is inside the blue fenced area. The stone in this particular photo was the most obvious one. One was under a bush, and another was under some leaves and almost completely grown over with grass.
As of April 1, 2016: it has been documented that this cemetery contains 8 graves. With the exception of Captain John Skidmore's head stone and surrounding blue fence, I was only able to locate 4 stones like the one in this photo. There appears to be a stone under a bush near John's grave. The 3 stones I found had no discernible engraving. The cemetery is on a point that overlooks the white house below. It is too steep to climb from the house and therefore it requires the walk from the barn.

This photo is of the cemetery and not of Joseph's grave. Of the five stones I did find, the only one that is inscribed is the one found inside the blue fenced in area and that is the grave of Capt. John Skidmore. As of April 1, 2016: From the Pendleton Co. Founders Memorial in Ruddle on Rt. 220, go 2.7 miles to Squire Lane. Turn right onto a wooden bridge crossing the river and turn right immediately after leaving the bridge onto Black Bear Lane. The area is a huge plowed field and to the far right is a white house with a red barn to the right of it at the end of the road. Just past the barn is a gate then a shallow creek. Park at the barn and walk in. Follow the dirt road for a few minutes until you come to a red gate. The road turns to the left and up the hillside in the direction you just came. Follow this road to the cemetery. There is a washed out dirt road on the right near the top of the incline and a few yards past that is another smaller dirt road that veers to the left. Stay on the gravel road. You will walk about 300 yards from the bottom of the hill. Watch for a wide trail on the left side of the gravel road where you will see a sky blue fence around a single grave on a point. There are four stones and John Skidmore's grave. I was unable to locate 8 graves as has been documented as being there. This cemetery is directly behind the white house in the field below. It is on a point that is too steep to climb from the house.
