John Roe Bradford, Sr., 88, of 3309 Sherry Lane, died at 1:07 a.m. in West Texas Medical Center after a brief illness.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday at Elliott-Hamil Chapel of Memories, 542 Hickory. Stuart Love of the University Church of Christ will officiate, assisted by Lynn Anderson and Walter Adams. Burial will be at 4 p.m. Monday in Sweetwater Cemetery.
Born Nov. 22, 1889 in Sweetwater, Mr. Bradford moved to Abilene in 1946. He married Mabel M. Ridgeway on May 12, 1959 in Caddo, Okla.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Bond of Pecos and John R., Jr. of Albuquerque, N.M.; a step-son, James Ridgeway of Houston; a step-daughter, Wanda Lenihan of Aurora, Ohio; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a brother, Homer Bradford of Sweetwater; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Garnie Hatch, Ray Inzer, Bill Decker, Jim Bradford, Woodward Robbins and Eddie Mahanay.
