Peter Johncour Dies at Age 58
Peter Johncour, 58, of Johnstown, R.D. 4, died yesterday afternoon after collapsing at this home yesterday morning. He was pronounced dead upon removal to Memorial Hospital at 2 p.m. Mr. Johncour had been in ill health for the past year. Deputy Coroner Joseph Govekar attributed death to natural causes.
The deceased was practically a life long resident of Johnstown. He was born on
Sept. 18, 1887, in Houtzdale, Clearfield County, a son of the late Peter and Mary Laballe Johncour. He was an active member or the Park Ave. United Brethren Church and the All-Aboard Bible Class of the Sunday school He was employed as a mine foreman in various mines throughout the district prior to his illness.
Surviving are his widow, the former Mary A. Lees, and two children: Mrs. Dorothy Mock, Johnstown, R.D. 4, and Cpl. Harold, with the Army in the Pacific. Mr. Johncour reared a nephew, Sgt. Robert E. Lees, now serving with the Army overseas. Mr. Johncour was a brother of Mrs. Jennie Brown and Mrs. Mamie Barraclough, both of Barnesboro, and Mrs. Adelaide Gunsallus, Johnstown. There is one grandchild.
Friends are being received at the Henderson funeral Home where services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday by Rev. E. C. Weaver, pastor of the Park Ave. church. Interment will be in the Grandview Cemetery.
