MARK KNIGHT

PLAIN CITY -- Mark Martin
Knight, 74, active L. D. S. church
worker, died Tuesday at the family
residence after a
three-week ill-
ness.
Mr. Knight
had filled an L.
D. S. mission to
the east central
states from 1929
to 1931 and an-
other, with his
wife, from 1943
to 1944; and had
completed two
stake missions in
North Weber
stake and in Farr West stake. He
had also worked in the genealogi-
cal stake board and done temple
work. An active high priest, he
had served as president of the
elders quorum at one time and
had been a member of the 87th
quorum of seventies. He was a
former member of the West War-
ren Sunday school superintend-
dency and taught in the Plain City
Sunday school for many years. For
more than 40 years he was a ward
teacher.
Mr. Knight was born in West
Warren, Weber county, June 21,
1877, a son of Alonzo and Martha
Sanders Knight. He engaged in
farming and dairying.
On June 26, 1907, he married
Sarah Young in the L. D. S. Salt
Lake temple.
Surviving are his widow, one
son and three daughters, Owen Y.
Knight, Huntsville: Mrs. James
(Ruth) Fowers, Mrs. William H.
(La Von) Heslop, Mrs. Herbert
(Elida) Barnes, Plain City; 12
grandchildren, one of whom is
serving on an L. D. S. mission in
the west central states, two broth-
ers, Samuel Knight, West Warren,
and Marion Knight, Plain City.
Funeral services will be con-
ducted Friday at eleven a. m. at
Lindquist and Sons Colonial fun-
eral chapel, 3408 Washington,
Bishop George E. Knight of the
L. D. S. Plain City ward officiat-
ing.
Friends may call at the mor-
tuary tomorrow from six to nine
p. m. and Friday until time of ser-
vices. Burial will be in Brigham
City cemetery.
