Virginia G. James age 82 of Fries, Virginia passed away Friday, July 31, 2015 in the Waddell Nursing Home.

Mrs. James was born on November 28, 1932 in Carroll County, Virginia to Sidney and Curlin Bowers Ayers.

She is survived by her children and their spouses Gleasanna and Bobby Dixon of Fries, Virginia; Gary D. and Betty James of Galax, Virginia; Darlene and Greg Marshall of Willis, Virginia; Jimel and Darlene James of Winston-Salem, North Carolina; Richard and Julie James of Pleasant Garden, North Carolina; seven grandchildren Christy Alley; Brandi Ray; Travis Marshall; Crystal Rose Hammond; Johnathan James; Justin James; Joshua James; several great-grandchildren; brothers and sister-in-law Dean Ayers of Galax, Virginia; Don and Gwen Ayers of Austinville, Virginia; sister and brother-in-law Doris and Don Cox of Fries, Virginia; several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Sunday, August 2, 2015 at 3:00 PM in the Fries United Methodist Church with the Rev. Lee Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in the Newman Cemetery at River Hill. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2:00 PM until time for the funeral service at the Fries Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to either the Holston Home For Children, 404 Holston Drive, Greenville, Tennessee or to the Fries United Methodist Church, 629 Church Street, Fries, Virginia 24330.
