In 1904, Pearl taught 1st thru 8th grade in a rural school house in Decatur County, Kansas.
In 1916 she organized a study group, Tuesday Study Club of Jennings, that became part of the Kansas Federation of Women's Clubs. The Tuesday Study Club still meets today.
Pearl loved to write and wrote, "A Brief History of the Jennings School" published in 1926 and in 1955 she wrote "From Patches to Plenty", memoirs of a Country Doctor. She also wrote articles to the Capper's Weekly in the 1930's and 1940's.
She moved to Santa Ana, California in 1966 to be closer to her daughter, Doris and sister, Sadie.
Pearl passed away four days shy of turning 100 years old. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Martha Bell, her husband, Luther Chenoweth, her sons, Clarence Manford "Tiney" Chenoweth, William "Bill" Chenoweth and Arthur "Art" Chenoweth and one daughter, VaNonda Chenoweth DeLuca.
Pearl is buried in an unmarked grave in this cemetery. Her name is also on a memorial with her husband, Luther Chenoweth in the Jennings Cemetery, Jennings, Decatur County, Kansas.
