Robert spent most of his childhood growing up on Crowley Island where he would lobster fish with his father. He has been self-employed all of his life, either as a sternman on a lobster boat, clam digger or wrinkle dragger. Robert loved working and spending his time on the ocean. When he wasn’t on the water you could find him working on outboard motors. Always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed help with their outboard.
Robert spent his last days with his brother Clifton and wife Loretta. Many hours spent on the porch with Loretta and his half cup of coffee.
He is survived by a sister Lucille Albee and husband Joseph, brother Maxwell Emerson, brother Clifton Emerson and wife Loretta, brother Larry Emerson Sr. and wife Nellie, sister Carla Merritt and husband Alberton Sr., sister Darlene and husband Byron Jr. all of Jonesport, also several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by three brothers George Emerson, Ernest Emerson, and Sherman also one sister Delanie Beal.
A graveside service is scheduled for 1:00 PM, Friday, November 6, 2015, at Greenwood Cemetery in Jonesport. Arrangements by Bragdon-Kelley Funeral Homes, Machias. (Bangor DAily News 11/5/2015)
