Willie Mae Willis Lowry, 86, of Jonesboro, died Wednesday, October 22, 1997 in Jackson Parish Hospital.
Funeral services were held at 11:00 am Saturday, October 25, in Edmonds Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Matthew DeBord officiating. Burial was in Ebenezer Baptist Cemetery under the direction of Edmonds Funeral Home.
Mrs. Lowry was a homemaker and a longtime nurse in Jackson Parish. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Jonesboro.
Survivors include her three daughters, Gloria Hood & husband, Donna Ray of Saline, Hazel Lawrence of Shreveport, Dorothy Willis of Jonesboro; two sons, Homer Willis & wife Debra of Shreveport and J. E. Willis & wife Valerie of Pinellas Park, FL; two brothers, J. T. Allen & wife Geraldine of Jonesboro and O. K. Allen & wife Vivian of Jonesboro; one sister, Vera Burnum & husband J. T. of Jonesboro; and four step daughters, Faye Anderson of Hodge, Nancy Bryant & husband L. E. of Jonesboro, Janice Fletcher & husband James of West Monroe, and Karen Hall & husband Jo of El Dorado, AR; also eleven grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and eighteen step grandchildren.
Pall bearers were Al Golden, Michael Golden, Mark Golden, Woody Hood, Matthew Willis, Mike Hood.
