He died from dysentery whilst a prisonser of war at Payathonzu Detached Camp of No.3 Branch Camp of Thai POW Camp at Payathonzu Village, Taungdwingy County, Kayaeen Prefecture, Burma and was originally buried in the Payathonzu Cemetery.
