Light blue-eyed, Eberhart Scherro was born in Hungary on April 23, 1879 the son of Eberhart and Katarina Hufnagle-Scheero. He immigrated to America in 1911.

On September 12, 1918, the date of his United States World War I Registration Draft Card, he lived at 1609 Randolph Street, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania with his wife Catherine Scheero and worked as a laborer for Leo Engasser on Berk Street in Philadephia. His draft card indicated Eberhart was a declarant - intending to become a United States citizen and he was from the country of Hungary. Yet on Eberhart's 1924 Petition of Intent to become an American citizen, it states he was born in Yugoslavia. Although in the 1920, 1930 and 1940 United States Census, Eberhart stated he was born in Hungary.

According to the United States 1930 Census, Eberhart was a fireman in the brewery industry. German was his native tongue and he also spoke English.

The 1930 census further states Eberhart was a naturalized United States citizen, along with his wife Catherine and they owned their own home at 2318 Seybert Street, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where they lived with their nine children listed here in their birth order: Victoria age 16, Catherine age 15, Margaret age 14, Tressa age 12, Philip age 10, Nicholas age 8, Veronica age 6, Clara age 4 and Josephine age 3.

In 1945, Eberhart's brave oldest son United States Army Officer Private Philip J. Scherro was killed in World War II in 1945. During that same time period, his younger son Nicholas was serving in World War II for the United States Army.

Eberhart was survived by his beloved wife Catherine and their loving children Victoria Gertrude Scheero-Hennessey, Catherine Scherro-Moultrie, Margaret Scheero-Smith, Teresa E. Scherro-Dukel, Nicholas F. Scheero, Veronica T. Scherro-Wade, Clara Scheero-Park and Josephine Scheero.
