Following the lose of my first parrot, Torrap, in December of 1984 I knew I wanted to have another. In November of 1985 Pepper entered my life and heart.

Pepper, so named because he was a Blue Front Amazon; the breed having originally come from Brazil...he was my little Chili Pepper.

When I first saw him he was a just weaned baby, not even perching yet. I was told until he could eat on his own and perch he was not available. I purchased him right then and afterwards made daily trips to see and feed him. One day to my surprise and everyone else around, when I greeted him with a cheery Hello he said, "Hello" back to me. It was a good thing I had already purchased him because after that he was wanted by everyone present that day.

His talking continued and he had a very large vocabulary and an equally large personality.

His love for his cage mate resulted in both his death and hers (read their story on Puff's memorial) the guilt and the missing of them are still very enormous to bear.

Such a pretty bird, his feathers adorn the hat bands of many family and friends.
