Buddy was a "three year old" purbred Sable Collie. Another rescue, which is what happens when you work as a bookkeeper for a pet store. I will never know why he was surrendered but I was glad they made the choice that lead him to us.

Buddy was a buddy in the truest sense of the word. He just wanted to be with us wherever we were, in the house, in the yard he was there. He especially loved his "birthday" trip in the car. Because we did not know his actual birth date we chose the day he came to us...June 2nd. It is family tradition that on a dog's birthday they get a ride in the car to the local speciality hot dog establishment. They are invited to sit at the outdoor table, adorned in their birthday hat and eat one or two hot dogs depending on their size.

Buddy was a true gentleman, so incredibly sweet tempered. He walked with the grace that Collies do, head held high and ready for a pat or two.

He had one quirk that we noticed right away...when we took our dogs to the local pond he never went in the water (see photo right) he loved watching the birds and his housemates swimming in the pond...it was just not for him...too much the aristocrat, I guess.
