Molly was found by me wandering the streets in an industrial area near my husband's shop. I brought her back to the shop from which she promptly ran. Distraught I printed flyers and posted a lost dog ad in the newspaper and, as if she was meant to be ours, two days later I got a call from the local shelter. When I arrived she was at death's door...it seems she had very recently given birth to puppies and without them to nurse she developed mastitis. Several days of worry and a barrage of drugs she was fit to come home; a place she never tried to escape from. She was ours and we were hers.
The vet determined that she was most likely a Irish Terrier mix, so my Irish girl became Molly. She shared her home and her heart with two other dogs, a cat and two parrots. We only had her for a little over four years, but they were good years for her and I can only hope she knew how much she was loved.
