George was a son of John and Sarah Parkhurst. He married Phebe Leete on Mar. 29, 1610/1611 and with her had at least nine children between 1612 and 1629: Phoebe, Mary, Samuel, Deborah, George, Jr., John, Abigail, Elizabeth and Joseph.

George immirgrated to the Massachusetts Bay Colony in 1637. There he married 2nd Mrs. Susanna Simson, the widow of John Simson, who had died in Watertown in 1643. She had five children with John and at least five more with George.

George and Susanna lived first in Watertown and later in Boston. Susanna returned to England after 1650. George followed in 1655 after selling the remainder of the land she had owned with John Simson.

George died in Ipswich, Suffolk, England and was buried at St. Lawrence on June 18, 1675.
