Mrs. Katherine Blakely, widow of the late John Blakely, died at the home of E.F. Brothers on Route 1, Altoona, Monday (11 Dec 1933). Her death was due to acute stomach trouble. Mrs. Blakely was 74 years of age and was a member of the Methodist church.

The deceased is survived by one son, E. Blakely, of Route 2, Oneonta; four daughters, Mrs. F.E. Brothers of Route 1, Altoona, Mrs. L.M. Alexander of Route 1, Altoona, Mrs. J.M. Moody of Route 2, Oneonta, and Mrs. Tom Epperson of Decatur; five brothers, Solomon of Eustace, Tex., C.C. Cornelius of Route 4, Oneonta, William and George Cornelius of Ragland and Joe Cornelius of Route 1, Oneonta; two sisters, Mrs. Serena Bynum of Eustace, Tex. and Mrs. Mary Smith of Route 2, Oneonta.

The funeral services were held at Antioch Tuesday and were conducted by Rev. L.T. Fendley, assisted by Rev. P.J. Jordan, Rev. E.D. Battles and Rev. Ira Tidwell, with W.H. Pruitt, of Oneonta, in charge.

The pallbearers were grandsons of the deceased: Alvin Alexander, Alton Blakely, Herbert Brothers, Hoyt Brothers and Talmadge Blakely. The flower girls were granddaughters of Mrs. Blakely: Chloe Blakely, Vera Lowe, Evie Moody and Myrtle Brothers.
