---A funeral for Thomas Foster Joiner, 87 of Marshalltown was held April 29,1992 at Fisher Funeral Home at Adel. Mr. Joiner died of kidney failure on April 25 at Veterans Administration Hospital at Iowa City. Burial was at Elmwood Cemetery at Minburn.
---The son of Henry and Hattie Joiner, he was born in La Plata, MO. on May 3, 1904. He married Paulena Marie Madison. He had been a resident of the Iowa Veterans Home at Marshalltown for three years and prior to that time had resided in Dallas Center and Adel area,
---Mr. Joiner was employed at the United Brick and Tile at Adel. He was a World War II veteran and was a member of the Minburn American Legion and the Adel V.F.W.
---He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, one sister, one grandchild and one great grandchild.
---Survivors include his wife, Paulena Marie Joiner; two daughters Carol Carson of Redfield and Wanda Kay Madison of Des Moines; a son Donald of Minburn; five step-daughters, Georgia Barnham of Adel, Sylvia Sanders of Eaton Rapids, Mich, Verna Bloomfield of Davenport, Jackie Hunt of Colo and Ruth Ann Lindsey of Davenport; one step-son, Benny Madison of Grand Rapids , Mich; one sister, Pauline Long of Brookfield, Mo ; 23grandchildren and 22 great- grandchildren
