Daphna Anderson, 99, of Amarillo died Friday, Oct. 23, 2015.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel with Dale Bigham officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Daphna was born July 20, 1916, in Estelline to Claude and Willie Anderson. She moved to Amarillo in 1938 and began her career in the medical field as a surgical nurse at Osteopathic Hospital.

She loved to cook and was known for the big containers of food she would make in her kitchen. She spent many hours working on ceramics and loved giving them to friends, family and co-workers. She was a member of Arden Road Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and a sister, Dell Flippo.

Survivors include her nephew, Danny Flippo and his wife Sharon.

The family will receive visitors from 6 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
