Dell Flippo, 96, of Amarillo died Sunday, Oct. 26, 2014.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Arden Road Baptist Church with the Rev. Dale Bigham officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Dell was born Jan. 15, 1918, in Lakeview. She graduated from Estelline High School. Dell later moved to Amarillo, where she began her career in the medical field with Dr. Cradit and Dr. Vick. She later worked for Dr. Maurice and Earl Mann, retiring after 32 years of service.
Dell married the love of her life, Rayburn Flippo, on Dec. 24, 1944. They celebrated 62 years of marriage together. He preceded her in death in May 2006.
Dell loved the outdoors and early on, any chance she had, she loved to go fishing. After retirement, she enjoy taking her grandsons fishing and enjoying the outdoors. She taught Sunday school classes for more than 50 years and her God and family always came first. She was a member of Arden Road Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, Danny Flippo and wife Sharon of Amarillo; two grandsons, Dustin Flippo and wife Ashley of Amarillo and Devin Flippo and wife Jalee of Fort Worth; two great-granddaughters, Elliette Flippo and Chloe Flippo; and a sister Daphna Anderson of Amarillo.
