Monty passed away Oct. 22, 2015 at McKay Dee Hospital surrounded by his family.

Monty was born February 5, 1936 to Luella Chadwick and Parley Grant Shupe in North Ogden, the youngest of 14 children. He lived for his children and grand- children. Monty was a great friend to all and loved serving others.

He married Delores Anderson on May 1, 1964 in the Logan LDS Temple. That union was blessed with 6 children, Brett (Alissa), Blair (Leslie), Braden, Bryce (Layce), Jill (Jim) Puffer, Bryan (Cindy) and 20 grandchildren. Also survived by his brothers, Verle, Merrill (Bob) and Lewis (Kay) Shupe.

He graduated from Weber High School, received an Associate degree from Weber State University, a Bachelor's degree from Utah State University and worked on a Master's from the University of Minnesota and University of Utah. He served in the Air Force Reserves.

He retired from Weber State University where he worked with the student government in the Union Building, the Alumni Assoc. and as Director of Housing. He then worked in the real estate business for Coldwell Bankers for many years.

While at Utah State he was "Homecoming Chairman" and was a Robins Award Winner, which led him to start the "Crystal Crest Award" at Weber State and started the Miss WSU Pageant. He was honored later with the "Crystal Crest Award" himself. For 13 years he was Director of the Ogden 24th of July Parade. He served on the Emeriti Counsel at Weber State. He served a 2 ½ year mission to the Netherlands. He served as a counselor in the bishopric of the 73rd and WSU 5th Wards and Branch President of the Wasatch Care Center. He loved being in plays and as the ward Drama Director working with the youth in many "Roadshows". He and his wife worked as service missionaries on Temple Square for 10 1/2 years and he served in many other callings for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

He was preceded in death by siblings, Russell (Russ), Cyril, Beatrice (Bea) Peterson, Wilbert (Bill), Margaret Berrong, Maxine Shupe, James (LeGrande), Emily (Arlene) Lucas, Owen and Janice Burton.

Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon on Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2015 at the Kingston Ward, 3550 Polk, where a viewing will be held on Monday, Oct. 26th from 6 to 8 PM and Tuesday from 10:30 to 11:45 AM.

Interment will be in the Ben Lomond Cemetery.
