James Lowrey Southern Christian Advocate, GA, 1851

August 1, 1851

Died, Aug. 1, near Cassville, Ga., James Lowry, in the 62nd year of his age. He em- braced religion in early life and joined the M. E. Church, and spent a long and useful life in laboring in the vineyard of his blessed Master. He was recognized as an efficient exhorter in our Church for above twenty years. The powers of his intellect were not impaired by age. He was emphatically a holy man. There was never a stain upon his character. He brought up a large family in fear and admonition of the Lord ; not one of them was ever known to utter a falsehood or drink spirituous liquors. Brother Lowry's example should be followed by every member of the Church of Christ. He lived beloved and died lamented.
