Lola Grace Kantlehner, age 88, of Mt. Carroll, Illinois, died January 24, 2006, at Freeport Memorial Hospital in Freeport, Illinois. Funeral Services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 27, 2006 at the Church of God in Mt. Carroll with a one hour visitation prior to the service at the church. Pastor Rick Zickefoose will officiate. Interment will take place at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Mt. Carroll, Illinois. Friends may call from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, January 26, 2006 at the Frank-Law-Jones Funeral Home of Mt. Carroll. Memorials may be given to the family in Lola's name. Lola was born September 5, 1917 the daughter of Lewis and Minnie (Mayfield) Frederick in Lincoln, Nebraska. On September 12, 1935 Lola married Arthur Fred Kantlehner in Lanark, Illinois. Arthur passed away on February 1, 1960. Lola worked as a Cook at Pauley's Café, a clerk at Krafts Clothing, and the Pharmacy Center, all in Mt. Carroll. She and Arthur farmed for twenty-five years in Freedom Township. Lola was a member of the Mt. Carroll Church of God, the WCSC Church Women's Group, a former Wa-Tan-Ye member, the Home Extension, and a Bible Study Group at her church where she taught Sunday School for many years. Lola enjoyed gardening, cooking, pie baking, and traveling, including a trip to the Holy Land. Lola will be deeply missed by her one son, Lester (Carol) Kantlehner of Richmond, Illinois; two daughters, Myrna Handel of Mt. Carroll and Dolly (Russ) Baker of Ft. Wayne, Indiana; two brothers, Wilmer Frederick of Syracuse, Indiana and Paul Frederick of Stevens, PA; six grandchildren, Kim, Karen, Ronda, Mike, Brianna and Bryant; ten great-grandchildren, Anthony, Ethan, Seth, Katherine Grace, Jacob, Molly Collin,Joyce, Jeanie and Billy Jo. Lola is preceded in death by her husband; one son in-law, Skip Handel, six sisters and two brothers.
