Royce is my great-aunt.
Georgia Royce Curtis Nielsen was born to Truman Curtis and Lauretta Ruth Jensen on Monday, July 23, 1928 in Fountain Green, Utah.

She married Murray Dee Hoskins on August 17, 1945 in Salt Lake City. They were later divorced. She later married Karl Kennedy Nielsen on April 9, 1947 at her parent's home located at 248 West 400 North in the Marmalade District of the Capitol Hill neighborhood in Salt Lake City. The ceremony was performed by Don Dillingham.

From 1952 until her death, she resided at 1223 South Navajo Street (1350 West) in the Glendale neighborhood of Salt Lake City.

Adoring wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She loved bowling and playing pinochle with the "Club Ladies," sitting on the front porch with Karl, spending time with her family, and talking for hours to anyone. Royce was a lifelong member of the Democratic Party.

Her warm smile touched all who crossed her path. She was dearly loved by everyone who knew her and will be sorely missed by all!

After a long period of ill health, Royce passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 14, 1997 at her home.

Royce left to cherish her memory her husband of fifty years, Karl; children, Lance (Betty) Nielsen of Oceanside, Mississippi; Brenda (Brad Baker), Chris (Kelly) Nielsen, and Lisa Nielsen; grandchildren, Mya, Ginny, and Courtney Baker, and Austin and Allie Nielsen; great-grandson, Ashton Hansen: brothers, Brent (Shirley) Curtis, Don (Bev) Curtis, and Paul (Laurie) Curtis. She was preceded in death by her sister, Jeanne.
