Francis Key Morgan was the son of Calvin and Henrietta Hunt Morgan. He joined the Confederate Army after his oldest brother, the famous Gen. John Hunt Morgan, promised his mother he'd keep him out of combat. He fought in several battles, however, and was a member of Jefferson Davis' escort during his flight from Richmond in 1865. After the War, he worked as Lexington's City Tax Collector. He was sickly from childhood and died young.
