" SS ANCONA, built by ..... was a British steamer of 1.168 tons.
On September 6th, 1916 ANCONA was damaged by submarine gunfire, but not sunk.
On May, 28th 1917, SS ANCONA was on passage from Falmouth to Lisbon and Spanish ports with general cargo, when she was sunk by the German submarine UC-70 (Werner Fürbringer), 110 miles WSW of Ushant (Ouessant).
There were no survivors (25 crew and 1 passenger)."
