John Edwards of Lee died at his home here Wednesday morning. Death climaxed a long illness. He had lived in the Lee vicinity's entire life and his death brought sadness to many.

John Michael Edwards was born in the vicinity of Lee, October 10, 1866. He was the son of the late Edward and Johanna Edwards, pioneer residents of this area.

His boyhood and youth were spent at home until his marriage to Caroline Knudtson, about 52 years ago. The couple continued to farm in this community.

His parents, wife, and seven brothers and sisters all preceded him in death. His wife died January 6, 1906.

Surviving him are six children. They are Elmer, Minneapolis, Minn.; Everett and Clifford of DeKalb; Myron, Clare, and Lilly, all of Lee. There were seventeen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Last rites were accorded this afternoon from his home and from the Lee Lutheran Church of which he had beena member his entire life.
