Family lore had it his name was William Christopher Tomlinson, but he is William ?Cone? Tomlinson in his will. Possibly short name for Christopher? It's not Kit....

William & Sarah donated the land for the Five Points Methodist Church in 1888.

Chambers County Will Book 4 1895-1917, Page 37 State of Alabama, Chambers County Know all men by these presents that I William ?Cone? Tomlinson of said State and County contemplating the uncertainty of this ???? life and being feeble in body but of sound and disposing mind and memory do make and ordain this to be my last will and testament. Item 1st. I will and ordain that after death my body be buried in a decent and Christian like manner and that all of my just debts be paid and those owing me be collected by my executor hereinafter named.
Item 2nd. I will and desire that after my death all of my house hold and kitchen furniture be equally divided between my three children Ida F. Tomlinson, Barnie L. Tomlinson and Willie L. Tomlinson share and share alike.
Item 3rd. I will and desire that the lot that lies east of the Depot that I am at this time building a house upon that my executor have the building completed.
Item 4th. I will and desire that the house and lot known as the Bassett and also the two acre lot that lies joining the Methodist church lot and also the lot that lies east of the depot shall be held by my executor until Barney L. Tomlinson arrives at the age of twenty one years of age and that the proceeds of the rents and incomes be applied to the support and education of my two children Barney L. Tomlinson and Willie L. Tomlinson also the forty acre lot that lies joining R. J. Tomlinson on the north of his land known as the Martha Thompson forty that I purchased of A. B. Wilson also two hundred dollars that will be due me from R. L. Bassett and his wife Mattie Bassett the year of 1898 the proceeds and incomes be applied to the support of my two children Barney L. Tomlinson and Willie L. Tomlinson.
Item 5th. I will and desire that all of personal property not otherwise provided that my executor take take possession of and dispose of is as the best interest of my heirs may deem and using his best judgement as to selling at private sale or at public auction.
Item 6th. I will and desire that my real estate not otherwise provided for be sold at the expiration of twelve months after my death at public auction to the highest and best bidder and the proceeds of the sale be equally distributed between my three children namely Alonzo J. Tomlinson, Ida F. Tomlinson and Sula C. Finley also the proceeds of the sale of my personal property described in Item 5.
Item 7th. I will and desire that when Barnie L. Tomlinson arrives at the age of twenty-one years of age or should he die before that age. Then when Willie L. Tomlinson arrives at the age of eighteen years of age or should she marry sooner that the real estate that I have set aside for them be advertised as the as the law directs in such cases and sold separately in lots as it now stands to the highest and best bidder. And that the proceeds of such sales be distributed as follows: first making Barney L. Tomlinson and Willie L. Tomlinson share equal with A. J. Tomlinson, Ida F. Tomlinson, Sula C. Finley share of the the proceeds of the sale of the personal property and real estate set aside for them, and after the shares are made equal. Then the balance of the proceeds that may remain be equally divided among all of my children to wit: Alonzo J. Tomlinson, Ida F. Tomlinson, Sula C. Finley, Barnie L. Tomlinson and Willie L. Tomlinson.
Item 8th. I appoint my son in law J. H. Finley as my executor of this my last will and testament and reposing full faith and confidence in his integrity trust he will execute my will and desire as above indicated but before entrusting upon his duties he be required to make a good and sufficient approved bond with good sureties as the law directs in such cases. Item -- In conclusion while commending my spirit to God who gave it and in testimony of my desire, I hereunto subscribe my hand and seal this the 21 December in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ninety-six.
