DODGE CITY - Donna F. Kennedy, 78, died Aug. 13, 2006, at Via Christi Regional Medical Center, St. Francis Campus, Wichita.

She was born Aug. 7, 1928, in Fowler, the daughter of Ray W. and Lillie M. (Hill) McGonigle. A graduate of Fowler High School, she received nurse's training at St. Anthony's Hospital, Dodge City. She was a registered nurse, working from 1950 to 1990, and later worked part-time at the Dodge City Surgi-Center.

She belonged to First United Methodist Church, Dodge City, and was a member of BH & BH, Miss Kitty's Quilters, National Association of Letter Carriers Auxiliary and was a 4-H leader.

On Sept. 17, 1950, she married Norman (Doc) Kennedy in Dodge City. He died Feb. 12, 2000.

Survivors include: two sons, Dale Kennedy Jr., Great Bend, and Ben, Dodge City; three brothers, Harry McGonigle, Wichita, Carl McGonigle, Ashland, and Chester McGonigle, St. Johns, Ariz.; a sister, Alice Miller, Minneola, Texas; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Kelly; a daughter, Kim Feldt; and three brothers.

Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church, Dodge City, with the Rev. Lance Carrithers presiding. Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Swaim Funeral Home, Dodge City. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Dodge City.

Memorials may be sent to Hospice of the Prairie or to First United Methodist Church, both in care of the funeral home, Dodge City.
