Roy was the fourth of six children born to Eli Larkin and Lessie (McMasters) Kivett. He married Ida Frances Gunter and they had two children: Roy Clifton Sr. and Patty Frances.

LIBERTY, Aug,. 3.- Roy Calvin (Red) Kivett, 34, of Route 1, Liberty, died this afternoon following a short illness. Surviving are his wife, the former Ida Gunter; one son, Roy Clifton; one daughter, Patty Frances Kivett, both of the home; one brother, William 0. Kivett of Route 2, Liberty; three sisters, Mrs. Wayne Stevenson of Route 2, Liberty, Mrs. J.R. Turner; of Route 1,Liberty, and Mrs. Nancy Thomas of Mt. Airy. Funeral arrangements are incomplete.
