He was born at Pemiscot Memorial Hayti on August 12, 1960 to Howard Cummings and Louise Tull Cummings, joining his older brother, Howard Michael. He weighed 8 lbs. and 8 oz. and was 21 1/2 inches long at birth.
He lived with his parents in Caruthersville at 937 Jefferson, near Brown Shoe Company, where they were both employed.
Roger married Cheryl Ann Cagle in June of 1978 and they had a son Roger, Jr. in 1979. Roger and Paula Shockley have two daughters, Audrey Jean, born in 1989 and Janine Louise, born in 1991.
Roger's career consisted of building spas and swimming pools with a Gunite Company in Fl. He retired on disability in 2008.
Roger leaves to mourn his passing his mother, Louise Tull Mathis of Arnold, MO and her life partner Lloyd Hodges, a brother, Mike Ryan Cummings of Arnold, MO, Mark's daughter, Mary Louise Cummings, son Roger Keith Cummings Jr. and wife Becky of Imperial, MO, daughters Audrey Jean Shockley-Cummings of Sarasota, Florida and Janine Louise Shockley of Englewood, Florida, along with four grandchildren, Pierce Michael Cummings, Libby Ellen Shockley-Kutcher, Bradley Keith Shockley-Kutcher, and Miriam Louann Cummings and a large loving family who mourned his loss.
Burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Hayti on October 15, 2015. He will be buried beside his brother Mike, who died in 2012.
Memorial services were October 10, 2015 at 1 p.m. in the John W. German Funeral Home Chapel conducted by family members.
