WOONSOCKET - Omer A. Chevrette, 92, formerly of Clinton St. died Friday at The Holiday. He was the husband of the late Alice (LeBlanc) Chevrette.

Born in Woonsocket, he was a son of the late Joseph and Flora (Boucher) Chevrette. Omer was a WWII Army veteran and served with the 305th Infantry Regimental Combat Team.

He was a Firefighter for the City of Woonsocket for thirty three years before retiring in 1983. Omer was a member of the Amvets Post #7 and was a volunteer with the Thundermist District of the Boy Scouts of America for forty five years.

He is survived by two sons, Eugene Chevrette of Woonsocket, and Gerard Chevrette of St. Augustine, FL, three daughters, Suzanne Smith of Kissimmee, FL, Doris Chevrette of Boynton Beach, FL, and Linda Jachym of Scituate, RI, two brothers, Albert Chevrette of Columbus, GA, and Aldor Chevrette of Woonsocket, two sisters, Florence Brodeur of Woonsocket, and Doris Beauregard of North Smithfield, eight grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and one great -greatgrand child. He was also the brother of the late Leo, Joseph, and Theodore Chevrette.

His funeral will be held Thursday at 9:00 AM from the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 463 South Main St. Woonsocket, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in All Saints Church, Rathbun St. Woonsocket.
