Beloved daughter of William Henry Sneed and Martha Lucinda Avans.

PATERNAL GRANDPARENTS: Jeremiah Sneed and Sarah Elizabeth Simerly

MATERNAL GRANDFATHER: Francis Marion Avans

Callie was the second wife of John Asbury Hayes whom she married on May 24, 1891. They were the parents of Samuel Arthur, Ethel M., Minnie Leola, and James Melvin. Information from family members states that Callie passed away when her youngest son was four years old. Since he was born in April, 1896 and was listed as a four year-old on the June 8,1900 Bradley County, Tn.census living with his father, siblings, paternal aunt, and her family, it is believed that Callie died between April 3, and the beginning of June, 1900. Her husband is listed as a widower on this census. There is also a sunken in stone, located near James Asbury's grave that is believed to be where Callie may have been laid to rest. The stone is worn, and is not readable.

Please note that Callie's parents, my great-grandparents, are also buried in this same cemetery.
