Camp Point, Ill, Aug. 23.—The funeral of Mrs. Sarah Appleby was held Saturday afternoon from the home conducted by Rev. George W. Wise, pastor of the Christian church. Mrs. Appleby died Thursday morning at 6:15. She was born in Burton township September 6, 1844, and when but a child moved, with her parents, to Camp Point and has since made her home here, except for the first seven years of her married life, which she spent in Stillsville, Ind. She was married to Wesley Appleby September 28, 1873, and to them five children were born, three of whom survive. They are William Appleby of Bazine, Kas.; Stanton Appleby of La Prairie, 111, and Mrs. Naomi Liggett of Camp Point. She also leaves one brother, John Fisher, of La Prairie, and three grandchildren, Ruth Liggett and Howard and Henry Appleby of La Prairie. She was reared in the Presbyterian church and her faith in God was abiding. She was a loving and kind mother, a good neighbor and a woman respected by the entire community.
