Lloyd Joseph Amedee, 88, a native of Vacherie and resident of Houma, died at
2:46 a.m. Monday, March 5, 2007.

Visitation will be from 8:30 a.m. to funeral time Wednesday at St. Francis de
Sales Cathedral. Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church, with burial
in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Gladys Laffitte Amedee; three
daughters, Mary Haydel and husband, Harold, Linda Perry and husband, Ernie, and
Catherine Hermans and husband, Tony; one daugher-in-law, Marie Chaubaud Amedee
of Belle Chasse; two sons, Anthony Amedee and wife, Debi, of Baton Rouge, and
John Amedee of Candem, Maine; and one brother, Robert Amedee and wife, Janet, of
Gonzales.

He was preceded in death by his oldest son, Lloyd Joseph Amedee Jr.; his
parents, Philadel and Odille Rodrigue Amedee; one sister, Ada Amedee Dupre; and
five brothers, Lee, Odon, Roger, Edgar and Antoine Amedee; proud grandfather of
17 grandchildren, Andre and Joe Paul Amedee, Monique Trahan, Darren Haydel,
Sarah Chauvin, Saul, Eli, Joel, Isaac and Anna Fontenot Amedee, Rebecca Chatham,
Jacob Perry, Michael Perry, Joshua Janway and Jessica, Sandra and Tony Hermans;
and blessed with nine great-grandchildren, Blake, Zachary, Seth, Brooke, Katie,
Morgan, Quin, Mason and Henry.

He was a U.S. Army veteran, a member of the American Legion Lenox Hotard Post, a
member of the VFW Post No. 3900, a Knights of Columbus Past Grand Knight of the
Third Degree, Houma Council No. 1317, a Fourth Degree Knight, a member of
Alhambra, a St. Francis de Sales usher, and a Disabled American Veteran member.

He was retired from Texaco and spent his leisure hours fishing and traveling.
Many will remember that he was always visible at St. Francis banquets, Knights'
suppers and any other functions where he could organize and cook meals.

Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
