Deacon John Hall is mentioned briefly in a biographical sketch included in a section on the Hall family included in Genealogical and Personal Memoirs Relating to the Families of Boston and Eastern Massachusetts, Volume 4, New York: Lewis Historical Publishing Company (1908), by William Richard Cutter, page 1887. It is now in the public domain and is transcribed below.
"Deacon John Hall, son of John Hall (I) was born about 1637; died at Dennis, Massachusetts, October 14, 1710, according to record on the gravestone [Please note the day of death is given incorrectly in Cutter's biographical sketch of Deacon John Hall; he died 24 Oct 1710]. He was deacon in the church; selectman in 1685; and had a pew in the meetinghouse as early as 1671. He resided at Yarmouth. He married Priscilla Bearse, born March 10, 1643, died March 30, 1712, daughter of August Bearse, of Barnstable, who came from Southampton, England, at the age of twenty years, sailing in the ship "Confidence," April 2, 1638. They had children, all born in Yarmouth: John, 1661, died young; Joseph, see forward; John, 1666; Priscilla, 1668; Priscilla, February, 1671; Esther, 1672; Mary, March 1, 1674; Martha, May 24, 1676; Nathaniel, September 15, 1678, married Widow Jane Moore, removed to Lewiston, Pennsylvania."∼John is buried at his near by farm in Dennis. I placed his memorial here with his family at the Hall Cemetery in Dennis, NY. John's father was John Hall b1611 in Coventry, Warwickshire, England. He settled in Yarmouth, Mass and died in that place on July 23, 1696. His 3rd great grandson Seth and his son Harrison Hall settled in Onondaga, Cicero, NY. They were large followers of the ME Church there. Father to Son for this family tree is John b1611; John b1638; Joseph b1663; Daniel b1699; David b1724; Seth b1751; Seth b1784 Harrison b1812; Harrison's daughter Hannah M. Hall who married Leander F. Harris in Cicero, NY. I'm John's 9th Great Granddaughter.
