Born on April 4, 1936, and raised in Republic, Missouri, Jack held many occupations, such as a heavy equipment operator, etc., but his last job was as Transportation Director for the Republic Schools, and he served in that capacity for 19 years until his retirement in 2001. After retirement, Jack moved to Billings, in the woods, with his wife, Kay, and many dogs, squirrels and birds that he loved.
He was preceded in death by a daughter and son-in-law, Eric and Joanna (Smith) Short; his parents, Jack and Marie Carr; and two brothers, Roy and Leonard Carr.
Jack is survived by his wife of 39 years, Kay; two sons, Steve Carr and Johnny Smith; three grandchildren, Josh Carr, and Cody and Cheyenne Short; three great grandchildren; three sisters-in-law, Maggie and Ethel Carr, and Barbara Murphy.
Burial in Evergreen Cemetery, Republic.
