On Nov. 14, 1939, Verna married Keith N. Jacobs at Harper and to this union five children were born: Phyllis, Margaret, Don, Faye and John.
She enjoyed her life as a homemaker and was a wonderful mother who was devoted to her family and church. Her hands were always busy with quilting, crocheting, canning, gardening, or just hugging her many grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Keith Jacobs, eight years ago on Dec. 9, 1993; her parents, John and Maggie Bauer, a sister, Marie Sipult; two infant brothers and a gradson Jack Reinolds.
Survivors include: Phyllis Thompson, Margaret Catlin, Don Jacobs, Faye Frazer, and John Jacobs; one sister, Dorothy Kauffman and a brother, Merle Bauer; nine grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren.
Intermentis in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Harper. Memorial have been established with the United Methodist Church of Harper in memory of Verna.
