Dolores Cassidy

Dolores Cassidy passed away September 29, 2015, at Bergen Regional Medical center, Paramus, New Jersey. She was the daughter and first born child of William T. Cassidy, and Gertrude (Brown) Cassidy Conwell. Dolores was born October 23, 1924, in Wyoming Valley Homeopathic Hospital in Wilkes-Barre. She was baptized at St. Vincent De Paul Church in Plymouth as Johanna Dolores Cassidy.

Dolores attended Plymouth and or Larksville Schools, either St. Vincent De Paul School, Church Street, Plymouth, or State Street School in Larksville, and later she also attended Sacred Heart Schools in Wilkes-Barre. She resided with her family first in Larksville, and later in WIlkes-Barre. While residing in Wilkes-Barre she worked as a Waitress at the Hotel Sterling. By the age of 16 she decided to relocate, and find employment, where she resided with her Maternal Aunt Elizabeth (Moran) Dunn. Her Aunt Liza managed a rental property in Newark, N.J. While residing in New Jersey she worked in a factory during World War II in Newark, and later she had worked for several years as an elevator operator, and she also worked for Bell Telephone company in N.J.

Dolores resided on Beech Street, in Hackensack, N.J. for many years with her beloved David until his death on 11-23-1994. Dave was a Navy veteran of WWII, and he was an electronic technician for Allied Signal Aerospace Company, Teterboro, N.J. David worked here worked for 35 years. After David's death, Dolores resided in an apartment in Hackensack Senior Housing for many years before moving to a Boarding Home named Carnation Manor in Oakland, N.J. here she lived until August of 2005. She later moved to Buckingham at Norwood, and on September 2, 2005 moved to Bergen Regional Medical Center, Bergen N.J.

Dolores loved singing and dancing and attended a Senior Center in Midland Park three times a week. Prior to moving to Buckingham at Norwood, she was big on fitness and was an avid walker.

Dolores was preceded in death by her parents, beloved companion; David Sherris Wilson, brother, Thomas Cassidy, and Sister Mary Agnes Emmett.

She is survived by brother; Joseph Cassidy, and sister; Philomena Conrad, both of Wilkes-Barre, Cousin; Helen (Brown) Yakobitis of West Pittston, Nieces; Mary (Emmett) Langdon, Pat (Emmett) Novak, and Colleen Conrad, Nephews; Richard Cassidy, William, John, Joseph, and Henry Emmett, and Paul, Glenn, Thomas, Christopher, and Timothy Conrad, several grand nieces and nephews, and also several Cousins in PA., and in N.J.
