Abbie Bill, daughter of Peter Bill and Emelie "Mary" Brissette, was a native of Lowell, Middlesex, Massachusetts. (Her father was baptized Pierre Lacombe, later used the surname Bill, and finally had the surname Beland on his death records.) Abbie was raised in Grafton County, New Hampshire. She married Henry Marcel Sorrell, son of Marcel Sorrell and Flavie Choquet, about 1873. The couple had four children, as well as an adopted son. Abbie died at age 68 and was interred in Green Grove Cemetery in Ashland.
