Preston C. Roberts, 70, Rt. 2, Pendleton, was stricken fatally at home Wednesday morning, Aug. 27.
A native and lifelong resident of Hancock County, he was born in Maxwell. He had been engaged in farming, and after World War II was employed at Guide Division in Anderson. He later worked for the Fortville Tribune.
He was an Army veteran of World War II, a member of the Ingalls United Methodist Church, the Eden Masonic Lodge and a life member of the Fortville VFW.
He is survived by a sister, Mrs. Irene Higdon of Ingalls and three nieces, Janet Vaughn and Mrs. Alma Conger of Ingalls and Mrs. Ray (Marian) Taulman of Fortville.
Services were conducted Saturday, Aug. 30, at the Ronald Seals Funeral Home in Fortville with the Rev. Dan Bair of Sugar Grove United Methodist Church officiating. Burial was at Park Cemetery in Greenfield, where military graveside rites were also conducted.
Masonic memorial rites were conducted by the Eden Lodge Friday evening, Aug. 29
