Melvin Ernest Davis, Jr., 51, of Keokuk, IA, died Saturday, September 19, 2015 at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, IL.

He was born on October 4, 1963 in Keokuk, IA the son of Melvin Ernest Davis Sr. and Naomi Hawley Davis.

On August 28, 2008, Melvin was united in marriage to Stephanie Kellum in Keokuk. She survives.

Other survivors include four sons, Adam (Morgan) Davis, Christopher (Megan) Davis and Miles Davis all of Keokuk and Jered (Cassie) Davis of Ft. Riley, KS, two daughters, Jessica Davis (Fred Tibbits, III), and Amanda Davis (Jeremy Harris) all of Keokuk, three step-children, Corey (Brandy) Vanderpool of Keokuk, Zach (Lexi) Vanderpool of Montrose and Brock (Jackie) Hartweg of Warsaw, IL, twelve grandchildren, his mother, Naomi Davis of Keokuk, four brothers, Randy Davis and his wife Diana, Dennis Davis and Craig Davis, all of Keokuk and John Davis and his wife Heather of Montrose, three sisters, Melva Hardman, Diana Pennington and June G. Davis, all of Keokuk and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, his grandparents and one sister Cheryl L. Stice.

He had been employed at Conway Freight in Keokuk for fifteen years.

He was a member of Calvary Four Square Church and the Order of the Elks Lodge #106 in Keokuk.

Melvin enjoyed being outdoors, golfing, fishing and riding his motorcycle. He was an avid Iowa Hawkeye and Pittsburgh Steelers and NASCAR fan. Most of all Melvin loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. He will be greatly missed and forever loved and remembered by all who knew him.
