Rachel Mary Sagmiller, 84 of Evergreens, Moorhead, MN died March 9th, 2010.

Rachel was born, March 20, 1925 in rural Zap, ND. Rachel graduated from Zap High School and 2 weeks later was on a train for the shipyards and aircraft carriers to do her part in WWII. She was one of the history's original "Rosy the Riveters." Rachel came back to Zap, ND to be a rural school teacher. On May 8th 1949, she married Delmont Sagmiller. They lived near Hazen and then in Pick City, ND where Delmont was helping to construct the Garrison Dam. They relocated to various cities to Polson, Montana; Dickinson, ND; Valley City, ND; and Aurora, Colo.

Rachel lived the past 3½ years in Moorhead, MN. She always took great joy in road trips to see the grandchildren, or just for a day trip to pick strawberries. She was an active gardener, loved camping trips, and was a German from Russia historian and excellent cook. She took many trips with family and friends in her lifetime.

Rachel is survived by three children: Delrae Weiss and spouse the late Les Weiss, of Zap and their children, Justin Weiss (Paige, Justin's child) and Laine Anderson (spouse Michael) and their children Madison; Noreen Thomas (spouse Lee), of Moorhead, MN their children Brita, Evan and Carsten Thomas; and Girard Sagmiller (spouse Sherri) and their children Savannah and Dakota of Kansas City, KS.

The funeral is scheduled for 2 PM MDT at Zion Lutheran in Beulah, ND.
