Jean Catherine's paternal grandmother was Charlotte Oshoga (Be Man De We Kwe) of the Lac Courte Oreilles Chippewa tribe (1840-1901). Her grandfather was George Boury of Canada (1839-1898).
The Boury family remained in Rice Lake until 1917 when they moved to St. Paul, Minnesota where Peter worked as a carpenter. It appears that Jean Catherine's parents had separated in 1921 when Peter moved to Milwaukee. Jean Catherine lived there in 1952.
Jean Catherine moved to Tampa in her later years and lived with her sister Blanche until Blanche's death in 1980. Jean Catherine married late in life to Xavier Felix Nowak (1910-1989) on February 12, 1985. Sadly, the marriage came to an end when Jean Catherine passed away within weeks of the ceremony in March. Xavier remained in Tampa after her death.
Jean Catherine's family retained her maiden name on her headstone in Holy Cross Cemetery in Milwaukee.
