Bertha M. Cassidy, age 60, a lifelong resident of Cleveland, New Mexico, passed away on Tuesday, September 22, 2015 in Cleveland, New Mexico.
Bertha was born on September 18, 1955 in Mora County to James Cassidy and Cecilia Romero Cassidy.
Bertha worked for Mora Chamber of Commerce. A Catholic, she was a member of St. Gertrude's Catholic Church in Mora, New Mexico and San Antonio Catholic Church in Cleveland, NM. Bertha was preceded in death by her parents, James and Cecilia Cassidy.
Bertha is survived by her daughters and son, Jeanette Hilton and her husband, Jason of Hornbek, LA, Christopher Rangel and his wife, Tina of Lubbock, TX and Heather Roque and her husband, Manuel of Littlefield, TX, grandchildren, Dayton, Joey, Avery, Michael, Savannah, Hailee, Victoria, Cassidy, Carlos and Ryleigh, brothers and sister, Selso Romero of Cleveland, NM, Nora Romero and her husband, Michael of Albuquerque, NM, Michael Cassidy, Mark Cassidy and his wife, Geri all of Las Vegas, NM, Matthew Cassidy and his wife, Theresa of Rio Rancho, NM and James Cassidy of Roswell, NM and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Bertha was involved in many community programs. Bertha loved working with people and found great joy contributing to the improvement of her community. Bertha loved life and had the ability to impact the hearts of those who knew her. Her smile was as radiant as her spirit. Bertha will be greatly missed and forever cherished in our hearts.
Rosary service will be held on Friday, September 25, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. at St. Gertrude's Catholic Church in Mora, NM. Funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, September 26, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. also at St. Gertrude's Catholic Church with Father Dennis Dolter, SOLT as Celebrant. Interment will follow at San Antonio Cemetery in Cleveland, NM with the following serving as Casket Bearers, Dayton Sáenz, Avery Guel, Michael Rangel, James Cassidy, Matthew Cassidy and Jason Cassidy.
