Mary Elizabeth “Betty” Shelton passed away Sept. 16, 2015.

Betty was born to Forrest Miles and Dolly Grace (Clevenger) in Bayonne, N.J. Betty retired from administration with TWA and was also retired from Liberty Hospital, where she worked in medical records. Betty had a zest for learning. She was proud to have earned her bachelor’s degree in business administration from William Jewell College while in her later adult years.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Anna Belle Wright; and her brother, Forrest Eugene Livingston.

She is survived by her daughter, Lynne Shelton of Raytown; two sons, Tim Shelton and his wife, Linda, of Excelsior Springs and Kevin and his wife, Deborah, of Lawson, Mo.; a beloved grand-daughter, Nicolle Shelton; one brother, Ernest Richard Livingston and his wife, Patricia; along with a sister-in-law, Hazel Livingston; and nine nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 23, at Grand River Chapel on the campus of William Jewell College, with the Rev. Vernon Armitage officiating. Burial in Masonic Cemetery, Excelsior Springs, Mo. Arrangements are through Cashatt Family Funeral Home, 816-587-8200.
