Freeman Carnahan SAYBROOK The funeral of Freeman E. Carnahan, 65, of Saybrook, will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Full Gospel Tabernacle the Rev. Richard Gray officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Saybrook. Visitation at Beck Memorial Home, Bloomington. Mr. Carnahan died at 2:37 p.m. Friday (May 20, 1988) at Gibson Community Hospital. He was born May 7, 1923, in Murfreesboro, Tenn., a son of Samuel Carnahan and Ethel Carver Carnahan. He married Gladys M. Wilson on March 22, 1947, In St. Louis, Mo. She died Oct. 19, 1974. He then married Ethel Boyle on May 13, 1981, In Heyworth. She survives. Also surviving are two sons, Dennis, Portland, Ore., and Dan, Austin, Texas; two stepsons, Roger Lorance, Canton, and Ron Lorance, Tucson, Ariz.; two daughters, Barbara Pummill, Normal; Mary Neanover, Normal; Shirley Wills, Normal; and Sandy Waters, Largo, Fla.; two stepdaughters, Laverne Johnson, Saybrook, and Delores Miller, Perry, Ga.; 12 grandchildren; and 10 stepgrandchildren. He was a member of the Full Gospel Tabernacle Church, Heyworth. He was a veteran of World War II. Mr. Carnahan worked at Pioneer Seed Corn Co. of Tipton, Ind. He later worked as a self-employed paint contractor and interior designer before his retirement. Memorials may be made to the church.

Since Freeman's passing he has been joined by grandsons: Michael Duane Neanover, Mark Allen Neanover, and Lance Robert Waters.

Mr. Carnahan and his wife were blessed with six children, due to his wife becoming ill at a young age, he raised them all by himself. He only remarried after all of his children were grown.

✨As a child, I was blessed with four sets of grandparents. Thank You for visiting Grandpa Carnahan. His memory lives in our hearts forever.✨
