Afaf Samara, 85, died at 9:45 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 3, 2014, at her home. She was born June 21, 1928, in Jerusalem to Hassan and Kuther Kalibo. She married Nimer Aref Samara in June of 1947; he preceded her in death on Oct. 8, 2004. Her parents and one son, Eyad Samara, also preceded her in death. She is survived by one daughter; four sons; 15 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two sisters, Haife Kalibo and Enyha Kalibo both of Jerusalem, Palestine; one brother, Aref (Ablah) Kalibo of Jerusalem, Palestine; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mrs. Samara was a homemaker and was a teacher when she was younger.
Visitation: Prayer Service at Islamic Society of Greater Springfield with burial to follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
