Albert Dampler, negro, captain of the fishing schooner Ida of the S. Felicione fleet, was drowned about 12 o'clock Thursday in the Hillsborough river. According to eye witnesses of the drowning, Dampier was in a stupor from drink and made two attempts to jump into the river. The first time the man jumped overboard from the schooner, but was rescued. The second one resulting in his drowning.
