Ozell Ellen Spotts, age 86, of Charlotte, died Thursday, June 1, 2006. Mrs. Spotts was born April 24, 1920 in Moulton, Alabama, the daughter of William and Hattie Mae (Brown) McCormick. Mrs. Spotts worked as a custodian for Calhoun County and then Airway Manufacturing. As a child she worked in the fields in Alabama picking cotton by hand. She was a hard worker who enjoyed knitting and crocheting. She is survived by her daughter Faye (Harold) Lucas of Battle Creek; stepsons, Nolan (jackie) Spotts of Charlotte, Mike (Christine) Spotts of Charlotte, fourteen grandchildren, twenty six great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren; brother, Marvin McCormick of Alabama and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held June 5 at Pray Funeral Home, Charlotte, with Reverend Karen Wheat officiating. Interment was held at Maple Hill Cemetery, Charlotte.
